AI Predictions: The Hot and Not in 2025

In recent days, we've been exploring various AI forecasts for 2025. Generally, we are not inclined towards predictions, as they can stem from speculation or subjective opinions, whether collective or individual. More often than not, predictions do not meet public expectations.

Nonetheless, we believe that some aspects can be anticipated based on the current information or facts available.

In our view, the company Snowflake has provided the most accurate evaluation of the available information and facts. Snowflake is an organization that offers the AI Data Cloud, enabling companies to share data, build applications, and enhance their business with AI.

Here's our 'take away' in regards to the best evaluations and assessments presented by Snowflake in their report.

The Hot:

  • Observability solutions - a core element of bringing AI to production - will end up in the hands of data platforms and the large cloud providers.

  • The semantic layer, which involves comprehending the meaning of data, will be the next major evolution and a transformative development.

  • While not all applications will utilise AI assistance, many will integrate a large language model, a knowledge repository, and human input in different ways.

  • AI's killer application will be autonomous Agents.

  • Chatbots and Assistants perform optimally when designed for a specific task or set of information. Consequently, we can anticipate the emergence of highly specialised and trained AI Assistants across various industries and aspects of life.

  • Evolvement of guardrails on the output of the LLMs and therefore AI Assistants and Agents. Guardrails will constrain what generative AI can or cannot say, what tone is or is not allowed.

  • A greater variety of data, including more diverse and relevant sources, will enhance the accuracy of LLMs and AI Assistants' outputs.

In response to the question of which AI model will hold the title of Industry Leader, contrary to a poll by The Atlas suggesting it will be ChatGPT, we believe that Claude Sonnnet is more likely to lead. This is because it is not only an exceptionally intelligent LLM but also can be trained on diverse and specialised data, allowing for versatile applications and accurate outcomes. Currently, ChatGPT is too broad and lacks specialisation, acting more as a general-purpose model. Its main advantage is being free, making it accessible for general inquiries and experimentation by many users.

The Nots:

  • General data

  • No guardrails

  • ChatGPT

  • No unified AI strategy

The Focus:

Create value or leverage existing value by engaging AI.

Industries that AI will have the greatest impact in 2025:

  • Communications

  • Hospitality

  • Finance sector

We hope you have a wonderful beginning to the year 2025 and enjoy engaging and learning with AI.
